Olive Hollamby lives in Lincolnshire with her husband, Alan, who is severely disabled.

Life before Autochair saw Olive (80) singlehandedly attempting to dismantle Alan's scooter just to get it into the car. The scooter was incredibly heavy and this made travelling anywhere further than their local town a huge challenge.

Olive and Alan's life changed for the better when they purchased an Autochair hoist. The couple opted for the Smart Lifter, an easy to use hoist with a simple operating system that can lift up to 200kg at the touch of a button.

He was very patient, ensuring that Alan was comfortable and that I fully understood how to use the hoist. Fortunately, it's simplicity was a welcome surprise, all I have to do is push a button and the scooter is in the car!"

With the hoist successfully installed, Olive and Alan ventured to Tesco on their first outing. Olive said: ‘I didn't even have to remove the scooter's seat. I simply pressed a button, the hoist came down, Alan got on and off we went shopping. Then we did it all again in reverse. A completely faultless process."
